ANNE CONVERSE TORGERSON|
Anne Converse Torgerson earned a bachelorís degree at Whittier College in California. Part-time employment at a city youth center during those four years of undergraduate work was really not much preparation for two summer stints at Sorensonís Koos Kamp, Koosharem, as the first girlsí counselor at the established summer dude ranch. Ranch life, including horse riding, was a brand new ball game for a city dweller!
Married to Chad Torgerson (born & raised in Koosharem), they raised their five children over the mountain from Koosharem, where Chad taught and coached for 25 years. They currently live and farm in Koosharem.
Previously a public school teacher in California, Washington, and Utah, Anne especially enjoys working with youth in this private school setting. Teaching at Sorensonís Ranch School is a dream come true, to be able to work with youth with their individual personal challenges coming to us from varied backgrounds. Since each student has a unique personality, graduate classes in Guidance and Special Areas of Education have added to her insights. She has taught at Sorensonís since 1992, and is proud to witness and be a part of the constant progress being made.
