Sorenson’s Ranch School is a girls ranch located in Koosharem, UT. Students often come to the ranch with very little experience in regards to ranch life. Many students come from larger cities and have never lived in a ranch setting. Students adapt to ranch life quickly and are immediately integrated into ranch life. Students begin working and feeding the animals their first week on the ranch. There is also an opportunity for students to raise and care for a lamb or a pig.
Students are taught through experiential learning. Experiential learning in a ranch environment has proven to be very effective and teaches students many skills that will help them throughout their lives. Sorenson’s Ranch School has been compared to a girls school for troubled youth. Sorenson’s Ranch is a girls school that also incorporates the learning environment of a boys ranch and a therapeutic boarding school.
